Temperate to a Victor's Crown
Apostle Star R. Scot
“ And every man that strives for the victor's crown is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown, but we an incorruptible, ” 1Cor. 9:25.
We are in the prophetic hour of a Sodom and Gomorrah generation, (Luke 17:28-30). We are living in Sodom where there are daily irritations of filthiness. None of us can say we haven't been vexed. In fact, we are annoyed daily by her spiritually lawless deeds. The questions we have to ask ourselves today is: What are we doing to prepare and fortify ourselves against this spiritual Sodom we live in?
Lot
“ And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked :( For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds ,”( 2Pet.2:7-8).
The environment of Sodom is said to have vexed righteous Lot by hearing and seeing their unlawful deeds. There is a spirit of lawlessness abounding in this generation, (Mt.24:12). It has vexed many in the church to where we have turned the grace of God into a license for immorality. Much of the church tolerates this evil spirit, participating in its carnality and even justifying it. Many of us have been desensitized; our consciences are not as sensitive as they used to be towards the holiness of our God. How do we get back that sensitivity to the voice of the Spirit, that divine jealousy where we're offended by the world, instead of tolerating its wickedness to greater degrees?
Perhaps we might begin by asking ourselves about all the “liberties” we are arguing that we have the right to partake of that aren't “so bad.” These things vary; anything from the television, the internet, the music, or whatever it is you choose for entertainment.
